With a record number of 40 participants, the AeroPress Championships also took place during the Vienna Coffee Festival. The event was organised by Oliver Goetz, owner of the well-known roastery ALT WIEN KAFFEE. The challenge: The event takes place over three rounds, in each round other participants always have to prepare a speciality coffee roasted by ALT WIEN KAFFEE in the AeroPress in five minutes. This year's winner is Michael Mayer and comes from the Speciality Coffee Shop of GOTA Coffee Experts in Vienna, where he has been working for the siblings Markus and Katharina Brun for two years. Now his recipe is going to the world finals in Australia, where he also wants to compete internationally. Second place went to Mihnea-Ioan Nicolescu, third place to Nina Verhoef.
