Cascara, meaning “peel” in Spanish, is the dried skin of the coffee cherry. For more than three generations, Las Lajas has been run by the Chacón Solano Family, who carefully process the cascara on their farm.
Traditionally used as a natural fertilizer to nourish coffee plants, it can also be brewed as a fruity, tea-like beverage. It is naturally sweet, gently caffeinated, and full of the bright, fruity taste of the coffee cherry itself – light, refreshing, and entirely unique.
